The Department renders a basic foundation by providing sound knowledge of the structure of the human body. Not only a surgeon but also a physician must be well acquinted with the comprehensive details of Anatomy/ Rachana Sharir. Students are taught Anatomy by means of human cadaveric dissection. The department focuses on developing the dissection skills of the students and trains them to visualize the structures present in the human body. Along with the latest knowledge of Anatomy, the students are also made aware of the traditional Ayurved concepts of Marma, Kalaa, Naadi, Srotas, etc. The department is also engaged in Post Graduate (M.D.) and Ph.D. training programmes.

MUSEUM:

• Various colorful bone models are available for observation.
• Drishtantas are prepared in the model form and displayed in thedepartment.
• Two Lifesize (6feetheight) statues according to Charak and Sushruta Pramana are developed by the department and convertible chart is also prepared to convert subjective unit into objective unit to utilize pramanasharir in the present era.
• Ample of specimens(more than 300) including intact central nervous system etc. are available in the departmental museum.
• Charts depicting the regional anatomy have been put up to provide easy reference to the students during dissection.
